Why is Fall Such a Popular Time to get a Chemical Peel

Why is the Fall referred to as "Peel Season" by estheticians, dermatologists, and skincare enthusiasts alike? You've probably heard that term thrown around, especially online in recent days, so here is the reason why Fall is such a popular and great time to get a chemical peel or do a chemical peel series.

First off, what is the difference between a chemical peel and a chemical peel series? The difference is the duration. A chemical peel, as you might assume, is one treatment/one session/one visit to your doctor or skincare specialist. A chemical peel series is a chemical peel conducted once a month by your provider for commonly 3 months in a row. The amount and frequency will depend on the peel type that you are doing. There is no hierarchy in doing a peel once or completing a peel series because not all peels are created equal and some require one visit and some require more. So, at the end of the day just work with your skincare provider and they will create a plan and match you with a peel or peel series that is best for you!

Now that all of that is out of the way, back to the main question! Why is Fall - "Peel Season"? It's actually quite simple. Fall is peel season because we have entered into a season where we are socially spending less time in the sun. Because of this it is a great time to do a chemical peel without altering your natural routine and social calendar. Whereas otherwise in the summer months you may have to decline more plans in order to heal properly. No...boating and beach time are not advised when your skin healing from a chemical peel. But with that in mind, another reason Fall is considered peel season, is because it is a great time to work on or address any pigment you may have accumulated over the summer months while partaking in those summer activities.

Lastly - Fall is an amazing time to do a peel or peel series because if you time it right in September and October your skin will look amazing in time for the Holidays! These are the three main reasons Fall is referred to as "Peel Season". A season I love for so many reasons. (lol)
